Every year here at AQUA we celebrate October with our “Spa”ktoberfest Spa Sale. A traditional staple of our hot tub celebration is the “Brat Tub” we adapted years ago from the Johnsonville Brat website. Not only does it show off the Primo’s versatility, it’s an easy way to keep brats warm and delicious over a long period of time (like a tent event or a party!)
The method is very simple- set up one side of your Primo for direct heat to grill the brats and set up the other side for indirect heat with the ceramic d plate for the Brat Tub.
For the Brat Tub we typically mix:
2 Sam Adams Octoberfest Beers
4 yellow onions
1/2 stick of butter
Put these ingredients in a half size pan while you grill the brats. A half size pan can hold about 20 Johnsonville brats with this amount of liquid and onions.
Grill the brats, turning once, until their internal temp is 160. A thermapen is a helpful tool here. They are ready for the brat tub!
Also, a note about brats- we have tried other brands but the casings didn’t take to the brat tub like the Johnsonville brand.
